My Transformation to Yours
There are people that are always searching for a better way.
It could a better way to organize information on your computer; a better way to communicate to a friend, co-worker or employee, or a better way to handle the stresses in your life.
Maybe it’s a better process at your business, in your home, or at your child’s school.
Regardless of how you are looking to improve your life, the answers are usually available if you are willing to seek them out.
Hello, I am Pat Tardiff and I am one of those type of people. I have been on a journey my whole life seeking ways to improve things, to be creative and to make my mark in the world.
I’m a degreed engineer that has worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years. As a young adult I pursued as a career opportunities to improve mechanical designs because that is what I thought I wanted.
And that filled my mind for a while, learning all the technical aspects of the field, but modest annual merit raises sprinkled with the occasional promotion every 3–5 years wasn’t moving me up the corporate income ladder as fast as I wanted, and this was preventing me from making the money required to live the live I truly desired for myself and my family. Not a life filled with lavish things, just the freedom to be debt-free and to do what I wanted like traveling with family and friends to sunny and warm ocean side resorts in the winter, supporting worthy causes, or helping others in need without the financial worry of how to pay for it. Therefore, I did some serious soul searching and realized it was my own confidence, or lack thereof, that was holding me back.
Can you relate?
Don’t get me wrong, I was a confident person in some respects and had a generally positive outlook in life, but negative self talk was like a big, thick, black elastic band wrapped around my waist. I would accomplish a few difficult tasks which would increase my confidence and start to move me forward, then thoughts like “What are you doing here? Those OTHER engineers are SO SMART” would pop into my head and pull me back.
The Day My Life Changed
This cycle continued for the first few years of my career until I stumbled upon an opportunity to learn how to improve how I think and how I perceive life through an audio program called “The Psychology of Winning” by Denis Waitley. The program was $59.95 and I did not have the money because I was married with a child and all my income (and then some) went toward supporting the family and paying off college debt.
I was so excited yet so anxious because emotionally I knew it was the right thing for me but intellectually I could not justify spending the money. I held the glossy sales brochure in my hand while standing at my desk and read it over and over again as thoughts of “Should I buy it…Yes, I need it…No, I can’t afford it” swirled in my head! Back and forth, back and forth until my eyes caught the shiny, gold 30-day, money back guarantee badge. “What do I have to lose?” I then thought. So I took a chance…and it changed my life forever!
I couldn’t get enough of this type of information which shared proven strategies how to use my thoughts for the betterment of myself and others.
I listened to cassette versions originally but have since converted to podcasts and audiobooks. I’ve listened to great insights from masters such as Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins, Influence by Robert R. Cialdini, The Art of Exceptional Living by Jim Rohn, Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, Psychology of Selling by Brian Tracy, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, and E-Myth by Michael E. Gerber to name a few. Most recently I’m a devoted daily listener of podcasts such as The Marketing Ninja by Manuel Sanchez, Broken Brain by host Drhu Purohit, Marketing Secrets with Russell Brunson, and the Chalene Show by Chalene Johnson, Entrepeneur on Fire hosted by John Lee Dumas and StoryBrand hosted by Don Miller, as well as consuming at least 15 audiobooks a year, all related to business or life skills.
Along the way I fell in love with marketing because it deals with understanding a person’s mindset to determine how to motivate them to buy a product or service. And I fell in love with understanding and applying techniques to improve business processes because it married the technical and logical portion of my brain with applied creativity.
Despite devouring all this valuable content for many years and gaining multiple newfound skills, I was still not where I wanted to be. Yes, my life was much better but still not living my best self.
I knew WHAT to do but for some reason wasn’t applying these skills consistently. I was still being held back by the mental elastic band.
A Second Breakthrough
Then I experienced another breakthrough after discovering and reading the book “Psycho-Cybernetics” by Dr. Maxwell Maltz. In this book he explains in simple terms how our mind works, why we have both positive and negative thoughts, and most importantly how to use our God-given abilities to control them by breaking the chains of self-limiting beliefs and use our sub-conscience like an internal Google search engine to lock in the best paths to reach our goals.
Man, was I excited!
After consuming the content of this book like a child gobbling up a bag of M&Ms, I re-visited the book and highlighted in painstaking detail every key point and every associated action he defined to get the results you want.
It was then that I realized I had found what I was looking for!
The techniques in this book when applied has transformed the lives of countless motivational gurus, sports psychologists, self-help practitioners, and many others from all walks of life for more than fifty years. I wanted that life transformation too and the content of this book was the key to getting it.
I did not want to wait the years of trial and error it may take to complete the transformation though. So I thought long and hard how to speed up the process, and by applying one of the techniques defined in the book I was able to identify a solution.
The Solution
What if I provided an opportunity for others to experience the transformation in their lives along with me? But not just by introducing them to the book, by taking it one step further.
Provide a forum for others to learn the techniques then share their experiences in a controlled, non-judgmental environment where we will also hold each other accountable to achieve our aspirations in the shortest amount of time. Kind of like a mastermind team which has proven highly successful when properly formed.
Then the PowerZone Mastery Series was born.
This is a six-session over 10 weeks highly interactive and action-driven training with a small mastermind of like-minded individuals that I expect will be transformational. And the best part is I will not only experience my own transformation but will experience another love — helping people like you and watching you grow through your own transformation. That’s what I call being in your “PowerZone” and is the foundation of my business.
Because through this life journey I realized seeing you live a happier, more fulfilling, and more meaningful life through your best self is the greatest reward of all. Therefore, there is nothing I’d rather be doing. As Zig Ziglar would always say, “If you help enough people get what they want you will get what you want.” He was dead right.
So let’s get you in your Zone — in Your Business, in Your Life. Your PowerZone!
